CAN'T WEBSYNC - AGAIN!!!

For the SECOND weekend in a row, I am unable to websync football and soccer. I'm getting the same error message as before. HOWEVER, the "fixes" that I used last weekend to get it to work, ARE NOT working.
Here's the error message ...
Requesting master list of schools...
Failed to load the response.  Sync Failed!

The logs show the people have been reporting fairly regularly all weekend, but the number of reports is a little light for Football. The numbers for soccer seem fine. Ive checked with a few other individuals that had no problems. I even checked with Steve W. from Park since he reported similar issues last weekend. He had no problems reporting this time around.

Is the issue still occurring? Have others had problems? Well need to take a closer look to see if it is something local that might be affecting the report. A certain firewall or something like that. Do you always use the same interent conneciton to report?

There could be something going on server side, but It doesn't look like it is affecting everyone. If it is still happening, I'll have you submit the season (to submit season: Close and reopen DakStats. Click configure | Season and System. Click utilities, select your season and click Submit season) to us so we can step through it.

I'm beginning to wonder if the issue is because I'm using my Sprint Broadband Mobile Card ... Thing is, it worked fine last year, but that is the only thing that is different in how I report. Once I'm on campus and connected to our network, I have no issues. But if it's through my broadband mobile card, I don't do anything.

If that is the case, why can't DakStats websync through it????

In general our reproting process should be very "firewall friendly". We transmit the info the same way a person browses a basic webpage.

We've run into a couple of cases (very rare) where a specific type of firewall (blue coat)has been modifying the information we send, resulting in reporting failures. Perhaps the software that is used by the mobile card does something similar. I will need to research it a bit.

Does it always fail when using that card? Have other readers experienced this issue?

have you all had any luck with trying to figure out why I can't websync via my Sprint Broadband mobile card??? I have not been able to websync using the broadband mobile card all fall. It FAILS EVERY TIME!!!

It seems the only way I can websync is if I'm connected to our LAN connection at school.

Sprint must be modifiying the information as it is tranmistted. They would have to be inserting data that our process isn't expecting.

It's difficult to figure out becasue we have no way of knowing what Sprint is doing to the data, nor do we really have a way of moniotring the data that is coming in when it is failing in that way.

I'm curious to know if other have run into the issue on Sprint or with other carriers.

OK ... I don't know why, but I am now able to websync with broadband mobile card ... doesn't make sense because I didn't do anything different or make any changes on my end ... but I'm just glad it works ... worked for football and basketball, so I'm not going to complain - for now LOL
