question about recent email

This message is regarding baseball and softball Web-Syncing.

Weve received a number of reports over the last week of people having problems Web-Syncing during the day.   This is primarily due to the basketball tournaments going on at this time.   There is a high amount of traffic of people viewing the NAIA webcasts.  (Were average of 193,000 unique page views over the first 2 days)

We have made adjustments to improve the chance of success when reporting during the busy time, but it is likely that it will continue to be an issue during these very busy days.

Based on our logs, those reporting in the morning, before 11:00am CST, have been able to report with minimal issues.   The busiest times are between 11:00 and 6:00 CST.  This can fluctuate based on the popularity of the games going on at any given time.

This issue has not been affecting the webcasts for any sport, you can continue to webcast as normal.  Were also pleased at how popular the webcasting has been for NAIA softball and baseball.

We expect that following the DI basketball tournaments, things will return to normal.  In the meantime there are some options:  try your Web-sync in the off times (mornings are best), or contact our helpdesk, we have a backup Web-Sync server we can direct you to.

Were committed to resolving any and all issues in a timely manner and I am please to say that were in a much better place than we were at this time last year.  I realize it can be frustrating, but appreciate your patience during this busy time.  We will continue to improve the reporting process of baseball and softball, much progress has been made.

As always, please contact us with any questions or concerns.

Regarding this email ... why would the NAIA Basketball National Tournaments mess up or disrupt websyncing?

And why has no responded to my other posts that I've left here during the past few weeks?

All NAIA sports are being hosted by the same server. It doesn't matter if you are baseball or basketball. Actually, there are two servers. The IIS server and the Database server. Still all requests go thru the IIS server and it will request information from the database server as needed (which is usually about 50 times per page load but depends on the page).

You should really only be affected on three days during the DII tourneys (Wed 12th, Thur 13th, and Fri 14th). We notice that the site doesn't have nearly the traffic at night or on weekends.

This week we expect the same thing will happend during the DI tourneys...Wed-Fri during the day will have the peak trafffic. After 5pm the trend has been that the traffic dramatically drops off.

Don't feel neglected if we don't respond right away. We often wait for others to weigh in and see what direction the discussion takes before respond.
